Smartforms upgrades include a combination of new functionality and technical improvements.
New releases ordinarily occur every fortnight, although essential 'hot fixes' may be applied more frequently. Many major new features and upgrades take more than two weeks to plan, develop and test prior to release so these are noted in our 'coming soon' section.
This article outlines the changes implemented on 11th Aug, 2020.
Now you can...
This release includes:
-
'Closed-loop' auditing: tightly integrating the relationship between Ops & Issues, it includes new reporting features that (for example) allow you to see all Ops/audits that have associated Issues/actions (and check the status).
-
Quick reporting on whatever you're looking at: e.g. if you're looking at a staff record, you can quickly jump to see all Ops they've completed or all Issues assigned to them.
-
An epic bug-squashing mission
An Epic Bug-Squashing Mission
Following our last HUGE release approx 3 weeks ago (which introduced many hotly-requested features and enterprise-level functionality), we've been working really hard on polishing things as part of our endeavour to bring you the best possible user experience.
Whilst many software vendors try to hide their faults, we actively seek your feedback so that we can improve the system for you. For this reason we're proud (rather than embarrassed) to announce that this release resolves or improves 73 individually reported defects and suggestions (no wonder the bug looks so scared).
Just in case more evidence of our commitment to improving your experience were needed, we've made it even easier for you to contact us by adding access to live chat and help files directly from the native app.
Simply click on the More (...) button, then Preferences. There you'll find two big 'help me' buttons...
Closed-Loop Auditing Functionality
When carrying out an audit, observations will be made that spawn follow-up actions. In Smartforms parlance, the audit is an Op and the follow-up actions are Issues.
In this latest release we've tightly integrated these to make it much quicker and easier to find and report on things like:
- All Issues/actions raised from a particular Op/audit (and see their status)
- The Op/audit that the Issue/action was raised from
- Much, much more...
Quick Reporting
We've made it much easier to quickly see 'everything related to the record you're looking at'. It's best to explain this with an example...
If you're looking at a staff record, you can quickly jump to see all Ops they've completed or all Issues assigned to them (as illustrated below).
Simply click the 'more' (...) menu. You can try this throughout the system.
